  • I desperately wanted to learn to knit when I was in my twenties. YouTube hadn’t been invented, and the closest knitting relative lived 1000 miles away... When I started teaching adults and children to knit, I designed the kit I wished I’d had back in those days. Today, as the owner of The Spinning Hand, I’m thrilled to combine my love of teaching with my knitting, crochet, and yarn obsessions.

Kari is a proud mama of her son Andrew, an FIT student; a lifelong cross-stitcher, crocheter, and crafter; and longtime resident of Maplewood, NJ. She learned to knit in 2001, began designing sweaters in 2003, and has taught hundreds of children and adults to knit.

Her favorite pastimes include drinking coffee at The Able Baker; singing karaoke at Libretti's; and training for her first 5k run.

  • Erin James lives with her family in Knoxville TN. She is an Entrepreneur at heart. Anthropologist and Arts Curator & Writer

She is the owner of Feral Scene LLC and an innovator in the fiber arts industry since 2016

She is married to her favorite person and loves being a mom more than anything.
