Fiber Arts & Modernism: My Visit to Woven Histories at the National Gallery of Art
I just had to share a little piece of my recent trip to DC. It was my first time in ages—like, pre-kids ages—getting lost in museums, and wow, did I make the most of it. My husband had work there, and I turned it into a five-day art marathon.
The highlight for me? Hands down, exploring Woven Histories: Textiles and Modern Abstraction at the National Gallery of Art. If you know me, you know I’m a fiber arts geek at heart. Seeing textiles not just as “craft” but as a backbone of modern art? Yes, please!

How to Steam Fabric for Eco Printing
Hey everyone! I hope your week is going well. Today, I wanted to share a little slice of creativity and learning from my life, inspired by none other than and one of our talented yarn spinners, my mom. Let’s dive into her latest exciting project: eco printing on a white silk shirt. Mom recently came for a visit to hang out with the girls while the husband and I took a quick trip to Nashville for a concert. ( Colter Wall I was so excited). Any how when we picked her up at the airport and when to a little bakery to grab some much needed coffee and treat we all loved the shirt she had on over a tank top. She was telling me all about how she tried a new technique with a friend called Eco Printing. I’d never heard of it so I took notes and pictures of course.
