Top 4 Best Spinning Wheel features on SpinOlution Wheels in 2022
Hey, everybody exciting announcement. As of last night, I finally finished getting all of this layaway stuff finished on the back end of my website and emailed it out to tell everybody. So I want to tell everybody here on the podcast. Crafty housewife yarns, now, as far as I know, are the exclusive place to find layaway for SpinOluiotn Spinning Wheels. I'm excited about this because I love layaway and I love spinolution spinning wheels. So the two together are great!
We have been offering layaway with our wheels since I became a dealer, but it always had to be through PayPal. I think PayPal has evolved a bit since then, but it used to be something where the person had to remember to make the payments, or I had to remember to send them invoices and it was a, it was a big mess.
As we've grown, I don't have the bandwidth to keep up with people. So I wanted something easy that was on our site because I know I love it when I"m online shopping and I can select to get a bigger package or better deal and then pay it off in installments.
I know with the cost, I feel like everything going up, I didn't want people to feel like they couldn't get one of these spinning wheels.
So I was hoping that this might make it a little bit more accessible to somebody that didn't want to put it on a credit card. You can check out all the details on our website. So here are all the reasons why I just love SpinOlution Spinning Wheels and wanted everyone to be able to have one, no matter how you needed to pay it off.
They are made in America, which I think is even more ex just super-duper important these days. Mike, the owner & designer, depending on when you're hearing this and I'll probably do another blog on this another day, but one of the major supply chain issues that as a dealer was very frustrating for me last year was we would have hold-ups on being able to ship out some of the wheels. The wheel would be 90% done because all of the wood and the work and everything's done stateside. But then some of the little metal parts like the golden whorls or something, we would be waiting on those to get delivered. So it's like you literally had the last little bit of something that you needed in order to finish the wheel, to send to the customers. So by moving to make basically all of the parts even the little parts here in the USA we can not only support local industry but provide better customer service by not having to wait on supplies from overseas.
I love the fact that they are all Baltic Birch from California, I think is wonderful. And that's one of the reasons I think there are such beautiful wheels is they're just really unique the way the wood is cut and layered and put together to make the unique, thick, ergonomic wheel parts They are also made out of solid wood so it's not particleboard wood or filler or anything like that.
They have a wide range of bobbin sizes and features. The big bobbins and the open face orifice make it very accessible that way while having the fastest spinning ratios, meaning that you can spend very fine easily because you've got a really smooth and really quick spinning ratio at the same time. And then the really lightweight 3d printed bobbins,four-ounce and eight-ounce bobbins really are great for fine spinning. You end up having the wheel range options where you can really go between the really big and the really fast I definitely think this is what sets these wheels apart.
They come fully assembled. I know I've talked before was about how my first wheel was a different brand and it literally came in a flat box, like what you would get a puzzle in. And it basically was puzzle-like I had to fully assemble the entire thing and then varnish it. And I mean, when you are a new spinner and you have no clue what you're doing, no matter how simple the wheel design is, you kind of feel like, did I put this together, right? Is this gonna actually make yarn? Did I do it wrong? And now I'm gonna be working against myself. You know, there are definitely concerns there.
The Worker Bee was debut in 2017 after spinners around the world requested a foldable Bee style wheel with a larger bobbin. The difference between the Queen Bee, King Bee, and Worker Bee is the ratio range and bobbin size. The Queen Bee holds 4 oz bobbins. The King Bee holds 8 oz bobbins. The Worker Bee holds 16 oz bobbins as well as 8 oz bobbins and can fit in a carry on suitcase for flying around the world.
The Worker Bee is the perfect wheel for the spinner who needs effortless portability with a wide ratio range. The speeds are adequate for extra fine (1:26) to bulky (1:4) spinning - and the bobbin size is large enough for creative textures and embellishments to be included in your spinning. SPECIFICATIONS

Lightweight and foldable, it’s ideal for spinners who want portability without sacrificing performance. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, this wheel makes spinning thick, textured yarns easy and fun, wherever you are.
The Worker Bee features a smooth, quiet treadle design that ensures a consistent spin, and its adjustable tension lets you work with all types of fibers, from fine lace to chunky yarns. Crafted with durable Baltic birch, this wheel is built to last and requires no assembly, so you can start spinning right away. With a built-in lazy kate that holds two 16-ounce bobbins, it’s perfect for traveling spinners who love to create big, textured yarns or spin large skeins of art yarn.
SpinOlution wheels are made from high-quality Baltic birch plywood. Please note that occasional knots or patches may appear in the wood—these are natural characteristics from the wood manufacturer and are not within SpinOlution’s control. While we do our best to select the finest materials, these cosmetic variations are a normal part of working with real wood and do not affect the performance or durability of the wheel.

Pollywog Spinning Wheel by SpinOlution – Perfect for Beginners

Whether you prefer spinning on your own or want to explore different yarn types, the Pollywog can grow with you, thanks to optional attachments that allow you to create both bulky and fine yarns. Spinners of all ages and sizes love this budget-friendly wheel, especially for its toe-friendly treadling design—making it perfect for beginners and even children. As you progress in your spinning skills, you can easily upgrade your setup by adding accessories to increase speed and accommodate larger bobbins.
The Pollywog features a bypassable orifice hook, ideal for spinning bulky yarn, plying creatively, or adding embellishments to your yarns. And with smooth, silent treadling, this wheel offers an exceptional spinning experience. The $484 Pollywog comes with three available ratios, providing the perfect speeds to master spinning a variety of fibers and yarn weights.
A lightweight and accessible entry-level spinning wheel.
Pollywog Spinning Wheel – $495
Upgrade your Pollywog with the following accessories!
Accelerator. $230 This removable circular piece attaches between the base and the head of your Pollywog wheel, and does two things. First, it raises the height of the orifice of your Pollywog and gives you a total of 10 speeds for spinning finer weight yarns. Adding this accessory to the Pollywog is perfect for filling the 4 oz bobbins with finer yarns.
12 oz Upgrade. $472 For spinners who want to explore the bulkier side of spinning - we have designed an upgrade with spacious 12 oz bobbins for art yarns, bulky textures, and huge yardage. This upgrade can also be attached to the accelerator for additional high speeds.
Combining the Pollywog with Accelerator and 12 oz Upgrade means you'll have it all: lightweight portability, huge bobbin space, speeds for all yarn weights, and a comfortable ergonomic spinning experience that will bring you joy for many years to come.
