These are my Mom’s recipes for the baked gifts she would always make our friends and nighbors at Christmas. We defiantly were’t a family who bought a million presents so these were the treats she would make once a year to take to people we cared about and I know we all looked forward to them. I have been making them for gifts myself for the past 10 years at this point I’d say and they are just scribbled on snaps of paper in my recipe box so I figured they deserved to be shared. The great thing about these three recipes is they sort of go together for a savory sweet treat. They also all involve rolling things into little balls so you can just make one huge mess in the kitchen and then clean it all up and be done. You also kind of just get on a “roll” with it. Also kids seem to love the part where you get to roll things in sugar so it’s pretty easy to out source some of the rolling while you pick up.

I”m so happy to be on this side of this project to be able to tell you all about this exciting collaboration we got to be a part of with two of my all time favorite lady run fiber arts empires. CHY was asked to contribute to two boxes for the cult fav knitter advent box from twice sheared sheep. This advent box is designed not just to be one more project you feel guilty about not finishing during the holidays but rather a box full of surprises and little treats to make your day all though out December. While all of these boxes are sold out this year ( a record number) I’m sure you can join Dawn’s Knitter Club and be in the know for next year.

I am a huge sucker for a one skein pattern. Working in the fiber arts I’m constantly having to shuffle and work on different things for different projects so when it comes to crafting for my own enjoyment I really love a project when I can just pick out that one cool skein that’s been calling my name and take with with me for car knitting or keeping my hands busy at my women’s bible study group.
